About us
The Friendship Association of Chinese Students and Scholars (FACSS) at University of Florida is an official non-profit, non-political student organization. It serves primarily to students, scholars and their families who came to the United State from China for study, research, and living purposes. FACSS was established in 1985, in the beginning the organization was there to provide transportation and housing purposes to new arrivals. Since then, FACSS has become the core institute for more and more Chinese students and scholars. Now we are among the biggest student organization in the universities of the state Florida, members join FACSS voluntarily, non member fee is required. As we grow, we have added more services, interactions, and entertainment events to our fundamental commission; among these is our Annual Chinese New Year Show, which receives thousands of audience from the North Florida area every year. Within our FACSS group we have an Internet Team who manage our FACSS website, mailing list and Forum where people can exchange, interact online conveniently. We also offer variety of clubs and activities such as badminton, tennis, volleyball, photography, camping and field trips. As FACSS comes into its 25th year of glory traditions, we are looking forward to achieve more to our commitment to the Chinese society around us. Moreover, spreading ourselves further to the non-Chinese speaking society, provide more culture interaction, friendship exchange, and services to all groups.
